REVIEW: Hilton Cobham
Hilton Cobham is ideally located for the M25 and within a short drive of Mercedes-Benz World.
Mercedes-Benz World (otherwise known as Brooklands) is suitable for all ages with driving experiences, a cafe, the latest cars from all the ranges and a racing simulator. In parts of the venue you can also see the old banking of the historic race circuit. Although you’ll probably be too distracted by the amazing cars they have on display. Or if you’re feeling adventurous, driving one of them around their very own modern circuit.
This particular Hilton isn’t too far from Heathrow airport if you’re travelling but would prefer a hotel more rural than many of the city based ones.
Upon arrival for this stay it was clear that there was an event going on, with a lot of people in tuxedos and loud music echoing throughout the hotel, even at 10:30/11pm at night.
After check-in, the noise from the music in the first room offered was incredibly loud and the front desk offered an alternative which also had the same problem. The third room was slightly better but also very dark and desperately in need of refurbishment.
The beds were comfortable but the maintenance of the room really let it down. As such breakfast wasn’t on the cards the morning after due to an interrupted night’s sleep.
The upsides to this hotel are the free parking and its location, the downsides were the need for refurbishment and the staff, who could have had more sympathy for the event causing disturbances for the other guests in the hotel.
From 14th September 2019 to 9th February 2020, all bedrooms and bathrooms will be refurbished which is absolutely needed. It’s recommended that you contact the hotel prior to staying in case they’re holding an event, just in case.
