REVIEW: Travelodge Chertsey
Travelodge Chertsey is located around a 15 minute walk from Chertsey train station and only a few minutes’ drive from junction 11 on the M25.
This particular Travelodge often has some really competitive prices which made staying here much more compelling over other hotels in the area.
If you regularly travel for business, it’s worth signing up to Travelodge for Business. You’ll get an 5% off your bookings and your room is likely to be on the Business floor which would hopefully be a little quieter than others.
Having driven to the hotel for this stay, their car park was fairly small but still had spaces available. It’ll be best to arrive before 9-10pm when it will likely be full. There are other car parks within walking distance but you can’t get closer than the hotel’s own car park.
The signs on the reception desk of the hotel say that the car park machine only takes cash but it was worth ignoring that notice as it does indeed take cards.
The staff were very friendly and relaxed and the check-in took about 30 seconds. The room itself was a reasonable size and the bed very comfortable.
The room itself wasn’t particularly clean and there was a strange brown stain going down the bathroom door frame which you’ll see in the gallery of pictures below.
The quality of cleaning in the room was a surprise as Travelodge’s latest marketing campaign makes the rooms look refurbished and clean but it seems that their standards fell short on this occasion. Travelodge usually deliver an affordable experience every time in all of their hotels so this seems to be an isolated incident.
Despite the lack of cleaning, overall the stay was a 3 out of 5 and it’s likely that anyone staying here in future will enjoy their stay.
